Leisas Cafe in Morningside offers a laid-back spot that feels familiar to anyone keen on a solid coffee and a chill morning or lunch break. It’s the kind of place where the baristas know their beans—coffee turns up thick and rich enough to impress, and they’ve clearly mastered making it hold a straw upright, a subtle but telling sign of quality for those who care about texture.

The menu leans toward classic cafe fare done thoughtfully, with standout options like a chicken pesto toastie that hits the mark exactly as expected—no unwelcome surprises like hidden onion sneaking in. Breakfast choices also gather praise for fresh ingredients and balanced flavors, with eggs and toast dishes that blend subtlety in their seasoning rather than overpower the palate. If you’re someone who appreciates layers of flavor in your breakfast without fuss, this might suit you well.

Locals and visitors alike seem to appreciate the friendly, approachable staff who add a personable touch without being overbearing. The cafe has an easygoing atmosphere bolstered by a mix of good music that complements the vibe and the added bonus of books and local art for sale, which might appeal to those who enjoy a slower pace and some quiet browsing alongside their meal.

Leisas Cafe suits people who want a comfortable spot to pause near the local shops, whether for a relaxed breakfast, a casual midday coffee, or a slow weekend catch-up. It’s especially welcoming for anyone who values straightforward, flavorful food and a welcoming ambiance that’s neither rushed nor too loud. Mornings or early afternoons during the week or weekends could be ideal times to visit, when the space fills with locals dropping in for familiar staples or catching up over a coffee thickshake.

Coffee thickshake passed the straw test, they stood straight up. Chicken pesto toastie tasted AMAZING and was exactly as the menu described, not ambushed by onion.

We went there on a the recommendation of a friend and he was right ! The staff is carrying and outgoing. The coffee was good and strong enough ( cappuccino and Mocca ) The chorizo croissant was just spicy enough to get the flavours. The Breaky burger was good and big enough to be full. The place is nicely located at the shopping centre with a ton of parking spot. For sure I will come back again.

Great coffee and food at good prices. The vibe of the place is very relaxed and would suit any type of customer. Staff are a highlight, all absolutely lovely. Will be back & recommending this place to my mates in the area!

Nice vibe (books and jazz music), the owner always sound positive and happy (watch their Facebook videos). Hash brown was freshly fried and crispy, scrambled eggs juicy (but could have less salts), sourdough was soft (would be nice to have a bit more crispy crust). Coffee they only offer Di Pacci After Dark blend which is dark roasted. Many customers will like its rich and bold, but I only had half of it as my stomach is not very tolerant. Most customers were quiet (listening to the music?) It's a great comfy place to space out a day or half.
